The Story Behind Rails

It all began aboard the Eurorail, Europe’s famous rail system and Rails’ namesake. During his travels from one cultural capital to the next, founder Jeff Abrams was inspired to design a fashion line. It needed to be Southern California casual, but with a European flair. With no formal training, Abrams started with a simple black hat featuring his logo. To everyone’s surprise, the hat was a success, as was the clothing line that followed.

Since 2008, Rails has been making a name for itself in the fashion industry. With a strong celebrity and influencer following, Rails found success not only in the United States, but around the globe. Travel continues to be a huge source of inspiration and influences many of the patterns and designs you’ll see within the collections.

What Materials Does Rails Use?

When designing, Rails looks to create clothing that can transition from day to night, with ease. Items that can be styled up or down based on the occasion. To do so, fabrics need to not only fit well, but feel good. That’s why Rails uses only the softest materials. Many of their pieces feature a luxurious tencel blend while others are made of top quality silk, alpaca, and even wool. Each piece is also run through a multiple wash process to ensure ultimate softness.

How Does Sizing Work?

Women’s sizes range from XXS to 2X, and are true to size. Rails also features mens and childrens clothing too; check out their website to learn more.
